You did it! You finished 4th grade! You were an excellent class and I’m sad to see you go. I had so much fun this year because I got to teach such an awesome group of kids. You never failed to impress me with your creativity, hard word, and kindness. I don’t think I’ve ever had a class that got along as well as our group this year, and I loved the way you helped each other out.
You learned a lot this year. You read some interesting and challenging books and wrote some great paragraphs, poems, and papers. You’ve practiced division, multiplication, fractions, decimals, graphing, and geometry. You also got to perform folk tales, vocabulary skits, and improv for your classmates. You accomplished a lot this year, and you should be proud of yourselves!
I hope you get to do a lot of fun things this summer, but don’t forget about learning. Read books and make connections. Look for mathematics in everyday life, whether it’s estimating total cost at the grocery store or calculating batting averages for your baseball team. Visit Study Island or Khan Academy. Ask questions and look for the answers.
Thanks for being a great class. You’re always welcome to come back and visit!
P.S. If anyone wants to take care of a lizard this summer, please email me. I’ve got a leopard gecko and a green anole that are available as summer pets.
