Students will conclude the novel The BFG by Roald Dahl. They will be writing a short book review about the story. The book review will consist of four paragraphs. Paragraph 1 will explain briefly what the plot of the book was. Paragraph 2 should be about the things the reader enjoyed about the book. Paragraph 3 is about any changes you think should be made to improve the story. If you don’t think the book needs to be changed, explain why you feel the book doesn’t need to be improved. The final paragraph is to explain who might like to read this book and why.
Students have been working hard to write and produce plays based on picture books and folk tales. We will be performing the plays for audiences, including any parents who wish to attend, next week. Details about performances will come home with your student later this week after our performance schedule is finalized.
Students are studying decimals. Students will be able to name tenths, hundredths, and thousandths. We will practice converting fractions to decimals and adding and subtracting decimals.
